Job summary

Connected Places Catapult in London or Milton Keynes is seeking a Consultant (Technical Project Manager) to lead the delivery of complex, innovation‑led rail projects. You will translate client requirements into structured delivery plans and oversee mobilisation, execution and completion.

Applying strong project management and rail engineering experience, you will manage multi‑disciplinary teams, control budgets and risks, maintain governance and reporting, and ensure safety, quality and client

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering complex rail projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and client communication.
• Ability to translate requirements into delivery plans.
• Experience with governance, risks and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead rail projects through initiation, planning, mobilisation, delivery and completion.
• Translate client and engineering requirements into structured project plans and work packages.
• Establish and maintain controls for scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues and change.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and keep activities aligned.
• Support bid activity, proposal development and opportunity follow‑on work.
• Ensure governance, documentation and reporting are accurate, timely and appropriate for clients and stakeholders.
