Role Overview:

The Senior IT Security Analyst is required for a leading client based in Birmingham. The Security Officer will develop, implement, and maintain security controls to enhance security capabilities within IT Security, Compliance, and Identity functions. The role involves protecting assets, systems, and data from threats and driving continuous security improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage live security incidents, conduct investigations, and ensure corrective actions.
2. Provide strategic guidance on threat identification, analysis, and mitigation using industry intelligence.
3. Detect and address security weaknesses across networks, systems, and applications.
4. Identify security risks and lead audit remediation efforts.
5. Research emerging technologies and methodologies to stay ahead of industry trends.
6. Apply ITIL v4, Agile, and best practices in IT service management.
7. Understand SOC operations, incident response, and monitoring.
8. Knowledge of firewalls, network security groups, and access controls.
9. Enhance security posture through continuous improvements.
10. Manage live cyber incidents and remediation strategies.
11. Collaborate with suppliers for service enhancements.
12. Experience across IT security domains: software, servers, infrastructure, networks.
13. Design and implement secure systems to protect assets.
14. Understand system architectures and vulnerabilities.
