Job summary

ARCA Consulting Ltd seeks a technically strong 3rd line infrastructure professional to support and lead on complex Windows Server, Azure, MECM/ConfigMgr, and Intune environments. You will work with Active Directory, Citrix, VPN, and MFT while ensuring robust security and reliability across cloud and on-premises systems.

The role includes on-call duties and collaboration with Service Desk and IT teams to drive proactive improvements and incident resolution.

Qualifications

• We are looking for a technically strong, hands-on professional at 3rd line level.
• Experience in sizeable corporate/enterprise IT environments is preferred.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure Local and Microsoft 365.
• Strong experience with Windows Server and desktop environments.
• Experience with MECM/ConfigMgr and Intune/Endpoint Management is required.
• Good networking and infrastructure troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with SQL Server, Citrix, DNS, VPN, MFT/FTPS/SFTP and enterprise backups would be beneficial.
• Strong communication and ownership from investigation to resolution.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on 3rd line infrastructure and technical support, coordinating with Service Desk and IT teams.
• Escalate and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues to resolution.
• Lead during P1/P2 incidents, coordinating across resolver teams.
• Maintain hybrid Microsoft infrastructure (cloud and on-premises).
• Work with Azure, Entra ID, AD and Microsoft 365.
• Manage end-user compute with MECM/ConfigMgr and Intune.
• Support Windows Server and desktops, including patching and optimisation.
• Work with VMware and Hyper-V virtualization.
• Handle software deployment, provisioning and policy compliance via ConfigMgr and Intune.
• Investigate recurring issues and perform root cause analyses.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects and document standards.

Requirements:

• We are looking for a technically strong, hands‑on professional who is comfortable operating at 3rd line level.
• We ideally have experience working within a sizeable corporate or enterprise IT environment.
• We have strong experience with Microsoft Azure Local.
• We have strong experience with Microsoft 365.
• We have strong experience with Windows Server and desktop environments.
• We have strong experience with Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM / ConfigMgr).
• We have strong experience with Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Management.
• We have strong experience with basic networking and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Experience with SQL Server, Citrix, DNS, Always On VPN, Managed File Transfer (MFT), FTPS/SFTP and enterprise backup solutions would also be beneficial.
• We are strong problem solvers with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
• We have good communication skills and the ability to take ownership of issues from initial investigation through to resolution.

Responsibilities:

• We provide hands‑on 3rd line infrastructure and technical support, working closely with the Service Desk and wider IT teams.
• We act as a technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and troubleshoot problems through to resolution.
• We take a technical lead during P1/P2 major incidents, coordinating activity across relevant resolver teams.
• We support and maintain a hybrid Microsoft infrastructure environment, covering both cloud and on-premises technologies.
• We work extensively with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
• We manage and support the end‑user computing environment using Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM/ConfigMgr) and Intune.
• We support Windows Server and desktop environments, including patching, upgrades, certificates and platform optimisation.
• We work with virtualisation technologies including VMware and Hyper‑V.
• We support software deployment, provisioning and policy compliance through ConfigMgr and Intune.
• We investigate recurring issues, carry out root cause analysis and implement preventative solutions.
• We contribute to infrastructure projects, technical changes and service improvements from planning through to implementation and testing.
• We maintain technical documentation and help establish infrastructure standards and best practice.
• We participate in a 24/7 on‑call rota for business‑critical services.
