Job summary

Co-op Digital in Scunthorpe is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join the Wholesale Technology team and deliver reliable, secure and high‑performing technology services across the head office and logistics network.

You’ll support servers, networks and cloud technologies, participate in a 24/7 on-call rota and work in a hybrid pattern with regular site visits around Scunthorpe and travel to other sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting and maintaining enterprise infrastructure environments across networking, server, cloud and end-user technologies.
• Solid understanding of networking principles and infrastructure, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Experience working with virtualised environments and core Microsoft technologies.
• An appreciation of cybersecurity best practices and experience supporting secure, resilient technology services.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure and networking issues, working closely with our Service Desk to resolve incidents and problems.
• Troubleshoot, investigate and resolve issues across server, network, cloud and security technologies.
• Support the delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of infrastructure services across our offices, depots and logistics sites.
• Configure, administer and support server, virtualisation and networking environments, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable and available.
• Work with third‑party suppliers and technology partners to support service delivery and infrastructure improvements.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects, helping to implement new technologies and enhance existing services.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery activities, including backup management, testing and recovery processes.
• Participate in the 24/7 on-call rota and provide out-of-hours support when required, including responding to critical incidents.
