Job summary

Vital Energi is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer for our Head Office in Blackburn to secure, maintain and optimize critical systems. You will supervise day-to-day operations, lead infrastructure projects and ensure high availability, performance and security across on-premises and cloud services.

You will collaborate with IT and business teams, mentor junior staff, manage vendor relationships, and contribute to automation and disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications

• Experience in 2nd line IT support and incident remediation.
• Proven ability to manage security, backups, and recovery processes.
• Experience with virtualization, cloud services and enterprise networking.

Responsibilities

• 2nd Line Troubleshooting / Executive IT Support
• Proactively monitor and remediate incidents using approved tools and practices.
• Mentoring / Point of Escalation for internal team members
• Ensure Security and privacy of networks and computer systems
• Ownership of systems
• Liaising with 3rd party suppliers.
• Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
• Backup and recovery ownership
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation of issues, resolutions, and changes, ensuring timely stakeholder communication
• Out of hours work will be required.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced and driven Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic IT team at our Head Office, Blackburn.

You will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization’s IT infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security of critical systems and services.

This role ensures that IT systems are secure, reliable, and scalable to meet the ongoing needs of the business. The engineer supports both day-to-day operations and long-term infrastructure projects, contributing to system improvements, automation efforts, and technical troubleshooting to maintain optimal performance and availability across all IT services.

The Role

• Telephony – Teams / Webex / Poly & Logitech conferencing systems
