Job summary

Nextech Group Limited is seeking an experienced Senior IT Engineer to join a growing MSP team in Oxfordshire. The role involves hands-on escalation support, customer-site visits, and delivery of infrastructure upgrades across on-prem and cloud environments.

You will work in a hybrid pattern, combining home-based work with customer-site visits, dealing directly with clients and contributing to projects and upgrades. Strong MSP background and Microsoft 365/Azure skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience handling complex 2nd/3rd line support in MSP environments.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Experience with Azure/Entra ID and networking fundamentals.
• Ability to troubleshoot servers, networks and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with firewalls, switches, VLANs and VPNs.
• Experience delivering infrastructure upgrades or migrations.
• Excellent customer-facing communication and ownership of problems.

Working Pattern: Hybrid, with a mix of home working and customer site visits

The Role

We’re recruiting on behalf of an established Managed Service Provider in Oxfordshire looking for an experienced Senior IT Engineer to join their team.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll deal with complex technical escalations, support customer infrastructure and get involved in projects and upgrades.

You’ll split your time between working from home and visiting customer sites, so you’ll need to be comfortable working independently and dealing directly with customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Handling complex 2nd/3rd line support issues
• Supporting Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra ID, Windows Server and Active Directory
• Troubleshooting servers, networks and cloud environments
• Supporting firewalls, switches, VLANs and VPNs
• Working with VMware and/or Hyper-V
• Delivering infrastructure upgrades, migrations and projects
• Supporting backup, security and disaster recovery solutions
• Visiting customer sites when required
• Taking ownership of technical issues through to resolution
• Providing technical support and guidance to junior engineers

What We’re Looking For

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Previous experience working for an MSP
• Good knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server and Active Directory
• Experience with Azure / Entra ID
• Strong networking knowledge, including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, switches and firewalls
• Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V
• Experience delivering infrastructure upgrades or migrations
• Good customer-facing and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of problems
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to visit customer sites
