Job summary

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust seeks an exceptional Head of Built Environment Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) to lead the organisation’s built environment IPC portfolio. This senior role, working with the Director and Deputy Director of IPC, oversees governance, risk management and assurance across healthcare redevelopment, water safety, ventilation and environmental IPC programmes.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Trust-wide built environment IPC portfolio across governance, assurance and risk management.
• Embed infection prevention requirements in capital developments, refurbishment projects and service reconfigurations.
• Lead development of IPC strategy, policy and assurance frameworks; support incident and outbreak management where environmental factors are relevant.
• Represent the IPC service at senior internal and external forums and contribute to executive reporting and assurance processes.
• Provide professional leadership to IPC staff and drive continuous improvement in infection prevention practice across the Trust.
