Northern Health and Social Care Trust is recruiting an Assistant Director of Infection Prevention and Control to provide strategic IPC leadership and assurance across the Trust and commissioned services. The post reports to the Executive Director of Nursing/DIPC and will guide the IPC programme with a focus on risk assessment, policy implementation and national guidance alignment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse on the live NMC register.
• Postgraduate qualification in Infection Prevention Control (IPC) or a relevant Public Health subject.
• Educated to Degree level.
• Minimum 5 years' experience within IPC or Public Health, with ≥2 years in senior management in a large organisation.
• Evidence of leading improvement in nursing or midwifery practice resulting in safer patient care.
• Experience working with RQIA, PHA and Department of Health.

Responsabilités

• Provide highly visible leadership across the Trust, assessing standards and ensuring timely assurance to the DIPC.
• Lead the development and delivery of the IPC Strategy, governance and annual report.
• Chair outbreak control meetings and manage incident response.
• Develop IPC KPIs and monitor performance across Trust services.
• Collaborate with IPC Doctor and regional groups to address IPC risks and policy updates.
