Job summary

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust seeks an experienced Head of Built Environment IPC to lead infection prevention and control across estate redevelopment, water safety, ventilation, decontamination and environmental risk management. You will work alongside the Director and Deputy Director to shape strategy and deliver improvements in patient safety through proactive IPC leadership.

Registered healthcare professional with regulatory registration.
Educated to master’s level or equivalent experience.
Experience in IPC advice for built environment and risks.
Evidence of continued professional development.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership for the Trust-wide built environment IPC portfolio including governance, assurance and risk management.
Collaborate with clinical, operational, estates and facilities teams to embed IPC requirements in capital developments and refurbishments.
Offer authoritative IPC advice, conduct complex risk assessments and support escalation of significant IPC risks.
Develop strategy, policy and assurance frameworks; contribute to incident/outbreak management when environmental factors are relevant.
Represent the IPC service at senior internal and external forums; contribute to Board-level reporting and assurance.
Provide professional leadership to staff and drive continuous improvements in IPC practice.
