Job summary

HGF Limited, a leading IP specialist firm, is seeking a Senior IP Paralegal in Greater London to support contentious IP matters and oversee complex casework. You will coordinate litigation timelines, prepare court documents, and liaise with clients and external counsel.

You will work alongside solicitors and partners on patent, trade mark, and related disputes, managing disclosure, evidence, and trial bundles while ensuring high-quality service to clients and robust case management.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience working on contentious IP matters, particularly patent and/or trade mark litigation.
  • Strong understanding of litigation procedures, civil procedure rules, and case management processes.
  • Experience managing disclosure, evidence, and hearing preparation.

  • Prepare hearing, mediation, and trial bundles, ensuring documentation compliance.
  • Liaise with clients, barristers, experts, courts, and external providers throughout proceedings.

Job description

The Senior IP Paralegal position provides high-quality legal and procedural support across a

range of predominantly contentious intellectual property matters. The role oversees complex

casework, coordinates legal projects, supports solicitors on client matters, and acts as a key

point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include managing case

administration, preparing and reviewing legal documentation, coordinating deadlines and

supporting strategic projects, including UPC-related initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support on a portfolio of intellectual property disputes, ensuring matters progress efficiently through all stages of litigation.
  • Support solicitors and partners on patent, trade mark, copyright, design right, and passing off disputes.
  • Prepare, file, and manage court documents, witness statements, applications, and correspondence in accordance with procedural deadlines.
  • Coordinate disclosure and discovery exercises, including document collection, review, production, and use of e-disclosure platforms.
  • Prepare hearing, mediation, and trial bundles, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with court requirements.
  • Conduct legal, corporate, and intellectual property research to support case strategy, evidence gathering, and due diligence activities.
  • Assist with the preparation and management of evidence, including exhibits, chronologies, case summaries, and expert witness materials.
  • Liaise with clients, barristers, expert witnesses, courts, tribunals, overseas counsel, and external service providers throughout proceedings.
  • Monitor key dates, court directions, and procedural requirements, proactively managing litigation deadlines and risks.
  • Support matter budgeting, costs management, invoice processing, and the administration of litigation-related expenditures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of litigation processes, knowledge management initiatives, and client service delivery standards.
About You
  • Significant experience working on contentious IP matters, particularly patent and/or trade mark litigation.
  • Strong understanding of litigation procedures, civil procedure rules, case management processes, and experience with court proceedings.
  • Experience managing disclosure, evidence, and hearing/trial preparation.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise your deadlines
  • Have excellent client service skills
