Job summary

University of Birmingham Enterprise (UoBE) is seeking a commercially driven Senior Commercialisation Manager to lead development of high-potential IP and licensing opportunities from a leading UK research university. You’ll manage opportunities from initial assessment through to commercial execution, providing leadership and mentorship across the team.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in IP commercialisation, technology transfer, licensing, or venture development.
• Proven licensing deal experience, royalties, diligence obligations, or post-deal relationships.
• Experience within a university, research-intensive environment or technology transfer office is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment and development of commercialisation opportunities.
• Structure and negotiate licensing, option, and IP-related agreements.
• Manage relationships with founders, academics, investors, and commercial partners.
• Provide leadership and guidance to commercialisation colleagues.
