Job summary

Bumble Inc. is seeking a Lead Legal Counsel specializing in IP to shape and protect our brands, products, and technology across global teams. You will manage complex IP portfolios, provide strategic guidance, and negotiate sophisticated licensing and collaboration agreements.

You will work closely with Marketing, Product, Design, and Engineering, addressing AI-driven IP challenges and evolving regulatory considerations while upholding Bumble’s values of Excellence and Respect.

Qualifications

• Extensive IP law experience across trademarks, copyright, patents, and digital assets.
• Experience supervising complex IP enforcement and litigation support.
• Ability to translate legal concepts into clear business recommendations.
• Experience with AI-related IP questions and responsible use.

Responsibilities

• Shape and execute Bumble’s global IP strategy with Legal leadership and cross-functional partners.
• Own matters across trademarks, copyright, patent, domain, trade secret, and digital assets portfolios.
• Provide IP clearance and advice across product, engineering, and marketing from concept to launch.
• Lead enforcement and dispute matters including infringement, oppositions, and litigation support.
• Draft and negotiate licences, coexistence agreements, assignments, and technology agreements.
• Advise on patent strategy, software development, open-source, and AI-related IP questions.
• Support due diligence for partnerships, investments, and acquisitions with actionable playbooks and training.
• Provide practical, business-focused guidance to senior stakeholders with an agile mindset.
