Job summary

Urban Connect is partnering with an AI-native consultancy to recruit a Senior iOS Engineer for an initial 6-month contract. The role is fully remote for UK-based candidates, with a daily rate up to £450 outside IR35.

You will build mobile apps for iOS using SwiftUI and Swift Concurrency, work in an agile team, and apply modern engineering practices. Experience with AI tools such as Claude Code and a strong testing mindset are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of iOS development experience.
• Strong knowledge of modern iOS frameworks, SwiftUI.
• Experience with unit testing and clean code practices.
• Experience working in an agile/scrum environment.

Responsibilities

Senior IOS Engineer, 6- month contract, up to £450 p/d (outside IR35), Fully remote (UK Based)

We are partnering with an AI-native consultancy to recruit a Senior iOS Engineer on an initial 6-month contract.

This role requires an experienced engineer to develop mobile applications across both iOS and Android platforms, designing and building solutions for both phone and tablet user experiences. You will work with modern technologies, tools, and engineering practices within a highly innovative environment.

The organisation was an early adopter of SwiftUI, leveraging Swift Concurrency alongside a range of modern development approaches to build scalable, high-performance applications.

As part of a team at the forefront of exploring and implementing new solutions to complex technical challenges, you will play a key role in ensuring software quality, taking responsibility for unit testing and maintaining robust test coverage across multiple projects.

Responsibilities:

• Developing mobile apps with a focus on readable, maintainable and tested code using Swift.
• Collaborating with designers, product owners, testers and clients to deliver great products as an agile team
• Being an advocate for engineering best practices across mobile platforms
• Using the latest AI tools like Claude Code to accelerate your own and your teams delivery of high-quality iOS apps

Experience/Skills Required:

• 5+ year experience in IOS development
• Extensive experience with native mobile development using recent iOS framework versions
• A strong background in development best practices, clean code and unit testing
• Experience in working as part of a cross-functional development team
• Passion and enthusiasm for delivering great product
• Experience with AI tools and a want to develop in this space
