Job Description:
The role provides an interesting and exciting opportunity for someone looking to progress and develop their finance and/or IR career in QinetiQ.
Key Accountabilities:
- Financial analysis: Provide financial analysis of Group performance, looking back over history and forward in the 5-year Integrated Strategic Business Plan (ISBP). Lead, develop, and manage the IR model of Group financials, providing analysis of key external metrics and trends by contract, segment, sector, country, growth, margin, M&A performance, trends, half-on-half, etc. Support group-wide internal and external reporting with wider financial analysis. Create compelling narratives from financial data.
The QQ investment case:
- Develop and deliver the IR communication programme, including presentations, conferences, and roadshows.
- Develop investor messaging and materials for briefings.
- Respond promptly to investor queries, maintaining a deep knowledge of QinetiQ’s financials.
- Participate in meetings and record key themes to inform strategy.
- Maintain investor interaction records and analyze themes to improve engagement.
Equity research analysts:
- Build relationships with sell-side equity analysts.
- Manage and review analyst models and consensus, ensuring accuracy and publishing updates.
Management information:
- Monitor competitors and market activity, drafting briefing notes.
- Analyze QQ’s share register and sector research for leadership.
Reporting:
- Manage financial reporting timelines and processes.
- Support financial results preparation and market communications.
- Draft Board materials and lead the annual report’s strategic section.
- Support ESG-related disclosures and monitor IR best practices.
Key capabilities/knowledge:
- Strong financial acumen, including financial statements, modelling, and analysis.
- Results-driven, autonomous, and collaborative.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, with decision-making capabilities.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience & Qualifications:
- ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent with significant PQE.
- Experience in financial analysis, stakeholder management, and possibly equity markets.
- Ability to interpret complex data and communicate effectively.
