Job summary

Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust invites applications for a Consultant Cardiologist with advanced PCI training to join the Cardiology Department in Truro. The post focuses on emergency and elective PCI, including rotablation and complex CTO PCI, with a 10 PA plan and collaborative regional links.

The role includes general cardiology duties on wards and in out-patients, with an on-call rota and potential for part-time arrangements.

Qualifications

• Must hold the GMC Specialist Register or be within 6 months of receiving the CCT at interview.
• Full-time 10 PA job plan; flexible to part-time or job-share arrangements.
• Experience in delivering 24/7 PCI services and on-call rotas.

Responsibilities

• Join and contribute to delivery and further development of a high-volume PCI service (elective, inpatient, primary PCI).
• Take part in General Cardiology on the wards and in out-patients.
• Participate in 24/7 primary PCI on a 1 in 7 basis (with plans to 1 in 8).
• Maintain regional links with cardiothoracic and cardiology services (Plymouth and Exeter).
• Provide protected SPA time in line with the Trust job-planning framework.
