Job summary

Menzies LLP in the United Kingdom is seeking Internal Auditors/Senior Internal Auditors to join the Manchester, Birmingham, or London offices. You'll work on a varied portfolio of predominantly public sector and not-for-profit clients, delivering independent assurance to strengthen governance and risk management.

Qualifications

• GCSEs and A-Levels, BTEC or equivalent qualification; a degree is desirable but not essential; you’ll be working towards or keen to study ACCA or CIA.
• Experience within internal audit environment, ideally in an accountancy practice or public/not-for-profit sector.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential; you’ll communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Hybrid working policy and collaboration across offices are part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality internal audits and risk-based assignments to strengthen governance, risk management and internal control frameworks.
• Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted adviser throughout engagements.
• Analyse and evaluate controls to identify weaknesses and propose practical improvements.
• Provide clear, well-reasoned findings and value-added recommendations.
• Produce accurate audit reports and address feedback with practical actions.
• Support compliance and best practice, highlighting areas for improvement.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and maintain regular updates to clients and colleagues.
