Job summary

Search Consultancy LTD is looking for an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join its underwriting team in Leeds. You will assess new and existing business, analyse risk submissions, and ensure profitable growth for a diverse portfolio while delivering a high level of service to brokers and clients.

Key duties include underwriting new business, renewals and mid-term adjustments, negotiating terms and pricing, and building strong broker relationships.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within insurance underwriting.
• Strong knowledge of commercial or personal lines insurance.
• Ability to assess risk and make sound commercial decisions.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical ability.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Cert CII or progression towards professional qualifications would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments.
• Evaluate risk information and make informed underwriting decisions.
• Maintain underwriting standards and adhere to company guidelines.
• Build and develop relationships with brokers and key stakeholders.
