Job summary

Prime Appointments Recruitment Agency is recruiting a Senior Inspector in Brentwood to lead the Inspection Department, ensuring incoming parts and finished goods meet customer and aerospace requirements. You will supervise inspectors, review non-conformities and drive continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates will have aerospace regulations knowledge, ability to read technical drawings, and hands-on experience with inspection tools and MS Office in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aerospace regulations.
• Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.
• Experience in an inspection/quality role.
• Familiar with measuring equipment such as micrometres and verniers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day to day running of the Inspection Department providing guidance and support to Inspectors.
• Work with relevant departments to manage department priorities.
• Manage, review and action Inspection Queries, Shelf Life Inventory, Product Non Conformities and Supplier Returns.
• Support Continuous Improvement activities identifying ways to improve processes.
• Perform dimensional, visual and documentation inspection on incoming parts and outgoing products.
• Document and review Inspection results and outcomes.
• Create, Manage and Review FAIRs in accordance with AS9102.
• Participate in Root Cause Failure Mode investigations.
• Document product quality issues / concerns.
• Determine and oversee inspection standards for incoming goods.

A global distribution company supplying the aerospace industry are looking to recruit a Senior Inspector to manage the priorities of the Inspection Department. Reporting to the Quality Manager you will ensure that products coming into the business are inspected and that compliance to customer and third-party requirements are met. If you have knowledge of Aerospace regulations and are able to read and understand drawings and technical data then this is an excellent opportunity to work for a great company in a fantastic environment.

Duties

Experience Required

• Working knowledge of aerospace regulations
• Knowledge of Problem Solving Techniques and Tools
• Knowledge of AS9102 and ISO 2859-1
• Ability to read and understand technical data including drawings and specifications, etc
• Prior experience of using measuring equipment such as micrometres, verniers, etc.
• Technical engineering apprenticeship would be preferable
• Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Word, MS Office.
• Numeracy and literacy skills
• Previously worked within an Inspection / Quality Role
