About the Role

Fairhurst's Edinburgh office is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Technician to join our team. Previous experience in highway and drainage design within a consultancy setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare highway and drainage designs, demonstrating knowledge of UK design standards, and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines. Experience with projects ranging from logistics developments to residential schemes, covering pre-planning to construction stages, is required.
2. Produce designs suitable for BIM Level 2 integration and collaborate with the design team for 3D coordination, ensuring compatibility with IFC or similar formats.
3. Develop skills in client and stakeholder liaison, attend meetings, and progress towards project management responsibilities.
4. Possess report writing skills for FRA, drainage strategies, and specifications, which would be advantageous.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Civil Engineering HNC or equivalent qualification.
2. Experience in a similar role, preferably within the private sector.
3. Ambition to attain ICE or CIHT Incorporated status, with support for training provided.
4. Proficiency in Civils3D, Microdrainage, AutoCAD, AutoTrack, and Navisworks.
5. Experience with PDS line and sign design is a plus.
6. Flexible, enthusiastic, and team-oriented approach.
7. Strong communication skills across disciplines.
