Job summary

The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join the Digital & Technology team for a critical period of infrastructure and cyber security delivery. You will be hands-on, implementing changes and driving the organization toward Cyber Essentials / Cyber Essentials Plus certification.

You will provide senior 3rd-line infra expertise across Microsoft 365 and Azure, collaborating with the Technical Architect, IT Service Desk and SOC to ensure

Qualifications

• Experience in a 3rd line infra or cyber security role within a global organisation.
• Experience working with a managed Security Operations Centre (SOC).
• Experience supporting Windows and macOS in a Microsoft 365 and Azure environment.
• Experience preparing for or maintaining Cyber Essentials (and Cyber Essentials Plus) certification.

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure & Platform Management: Manage 3rd line infra, Azure (PaaS, IaaS, VNETs) and M365 estate including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Online.
• Security Operations: Liaise with the SOC, monitor alerts with Defender XDR and Sentinel, assist incident triage and root cause analysis.
• Vulnerability & Patch Management: Conduct vulnerability assessments and track remediation progress.
• Compliance & Certification: Support Cyber Essentials certification activities and assist with audits.
• Automation & Documentation: Develop PowerShell scripts and maintain system documentation.
• Backup & Resilience: Ensure M365 and Azure backup and disaster recovery arrangements.
