Job summary

Assystem is seeking a Project Manager to deliver a capital infrastructure project in a highly regulated environment. You will lead a team, direct delivery, and ensure alignment with military outputs and business needs.

The role requires hands-on construction experience, strong governance, budget control and risk management across NEC4 contract Managed programmes. Client site, full‑time; SC clearance preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on construction background with practical building services experience.
• Proven experience delivering infrastructure and construction projects through all phases of delivery.
• Strong commercial awareness with ability to challenge cost and compensation events.
• Extensive experience managing project delivery under NEC4 contracts, including change control.
• Strong IT skills and proficiency in project management and reporting tools.
• Experience in complex live operational or highly regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, delivery and commissioning of infrastructure projects from inception through to completion.
• Establish and deliver clear project objectives, ensuring successful outcomes aligned to business needs.
• Build and lead high‑performing teams, fostering collaboration, accountability and stakeholder engagement.
• Manage contracts, suppliers and partners, monitoring quality, cost, schedule and performance against obligations.
• Identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies to prevent delays and cost escalation.
• Oversee budgets, cashflow forecasts and expenditure, providing accurate financial reporting.
• Review schedules, milestones and delivery stages to ensure progress stays on track.
• Support and provide evidence for project assurance, gateway reviews and governance activities.
• Oversee change control processes and assess impacts of proposed changes.
• Maintain project plans, forecasts and configuration management records.
