Job summary

Heavy Haul Rail in Crewe is seeking a Senior Planner to join the Infrastructure Planning Team. You will plan from initial allocation, create diagrams with the roster and operations teams, and work with Network Rail to resolve changes before the day of train delivery.

The role requires excellent knowledge of national railway geography, NR SCO planning systems, and strong planning skills. You will support planning manager and cover duties in their absence, with a focus on delivering accurate

Responsibilities

• Complete advance summaries of allocated work and identify problem areas.
• Diagram work in advance and coordinate with operations & rosters to resolve issues.
• Support Planning Manager with resource estimates based on Network Rail orders.
• Re-plan existing jobs to provide coverage when needed and find new plans.
• Deliver the weekly train plan and provide a first-class service to customer and Heavy Haul Rail.
• Check others' work to ensure zero errors in the weekly plan.
• Cover planning team members for leave or sickness as required.
• Plan and manage large, high-profile blockades including lodge turns and loco recycling.

But none of this happens without us, its people. **Post Details****Job Title:** Senior Planner**Location:** Crewe**Shifts:** Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:00**Reports to:** Infrastructure Planning Manager**Purpose Of Job**This is an exciting and challenging role working within the Heavy Haul Rail Infrastructure Planning Team, who deliver the Network Rail Infrastructure Haulage Contract.The role involves working alongside the Infrastructure Planning manager, planning work from initial allocation, creating diagrams working with the roster and operations teams, and then working with Network Rail to resolve any changes or issues that may arise until the day of train delivery. Cover Infrastructure planning managers duties and responsibilities when they are absent alongside the Contract Manager.**Principal Activities and Accountabilities**Work as directed by Infrastructure Planning Manager.Complete advance summaries of allocated work and be able to identify problem jobs & areas.
