Job summary

Hitachi Digital Services is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead the optimisation, maintenance and reliability of core IT infrastructure at Nissan Sunderland. You will be the Tier 3 escalation point for complex system issues and ensure high availability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in an enterprise infrastructure, network, or systems engineering role.
• Expert-level Hyper‑V administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with failover clustering and virtual switch configuration.
• Strong Cisco networking experience, including routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
• Hands-on administration of SolarWinds (NPM, SAM).

Responsibilities

• Manage, optimise and maintain virtualised environments and server infrastructure for maximum uptime.
• Act as Tier 3 escalation point for complex infrastructure issues, including Hyper-V diagnostics and failover clustering.
• Support advanced routing, switching, networking and security troubleshooting.
• Manage network segmentation, VLAN configuration across core and access switching infrastructure.
• Assist with configuration, monitoring and administration of Cisco firewalls and wireless environments.
• Own and develop the enterprise monitoring platform using SolarWinds, including alerts and dashboards.
• Provide onsite production support and participate in planned maintenance outside normal hours.
