Job summary

Acorn Insurance Ltd. is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to take a hands-on lead role in a multi-disciplined IT infrastructure team. You will support on‑premises and Azure platforms, driving robust, resilient systems and ensuring security and compliance.

With 4+ years in infrastructure roles, you will guide the team, implement backups and recovery plans, and collaborate with Project, Cloud Platform, and SecOps teams to improve deployments and operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in infrastructure roles with senior duties
• Excellent Active Directory and associated services skills
• Experience across classic infrastructure disciplines: Network, Windows Server, Storage, Virtualisation, Security, Mail
• Knowledge of Office 365 suite and security tools
• Strong scripting and automation (PowerShell, Ansible)
• Experience with ITIL and incident/problem management

Responsibilities

• Hands-on technical lead within the infrastructure team promoting technical excellence
• Drive deployment and management of on-premises infrastructure with monitoring, backups and recovery plans
• Collaborate with cloud platform team on Azure-related aspects
• Support 3rd line tickets efficiently within SLA and KPI expectations
• Identify and implement improvements across deployed infrastructure
• Work with cross-functional teams for new deployments and maintenance
• Develop disaster recovery plans and ensure operational resilience
• Lead technical evaluations and design best-of-breed infrastructure solutions
• Remediate vulnerabilities with SecOps on remit
