Job summary

Acorn Group is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer in Liverpool City Centre HQ to lead hands-on infrastructure delivery across on‑premises and Azure. You will drive technical excellence, manage backups, monitoring and recovery plans, and collaborate with cloud and SecOps teams to ensure resilient services.

The role requires strong Active Directory, Windows Server, Office 365 and Exchange in a hybrid environment, plus scripting with PowerShell or Ansible.

Qualifications

• Min 4 years infrastructure experience
• Excellent Active Directory skills
• Broad infra disciplines: Network, Windows Server, Storage, Virtualisation, Security
• Experience in team supervision or mentoring is a plus
• Office 365 security and tools knowledge; strong Exchange hybrid skills
• Scripting: PowerShell or Ansible
• Familiar with ITIL processes

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on infrastructure delivery and knowledge transfer.
• Manage on-premises infrastructure with monitors, backups and recovery plans.
• Collaborate with cloud platform team for Azure-related aspects.
• Ensure tickets are handled efficiently within SLA.
• Promote best practices across the infra team.
• Work with Project, Development, Cloud Platform and SecOps teams.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and resilience.
• Evaluate infrastructure products and lead deployments.
• Design and document infrastructure solutions.
• Remediate vulnerabilities with SecOps.
