Job description

Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Head Office Location: Brindley Place, Birmingham

Job Location: Brindley Place, Birmingham

Salary: £46,600 - £58,000 per annum

Contract type: Permanent

Working hours: Full Time

About the role

Part of this role will require you to attend the Brindley Place office at least once a week.

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutions that support GreenSquareAccord's strategic and operational goals. This includes ensuring reliable day-to-day operations across core infrastructure components such as firewalls, networks, hosting platforms, and servers, while proactively monitoring and resolving issues to maintain high availability and performance.

You will lead disaster recovery planning and testing, promote cyber security best practices, and act as a technical authority within the team and organization. Collaboration is key—you'll work closely with colleagues across Digital Services and the wider business to deliver solutions that meet evolving needs, mentor junior team members, and contribute to a culture of technical excellence. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a blend of project delivery, technical leadership, and infrastructure operations.

Please note that if selected, a DBS check will be required. Further details will be provided following an offer.

About you

You are a skilled infrastructure engineer with at least 4 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale solutions. You possess deep technical expertise across Microsoft technologies (Office 365, Entra ID, Intune, AVD, Azure, Windows Server), and have strong capabilities in cloud infrastructure, networking (LAN/WAN, VPN, SD-WAN), and virtualization using VMware vSphere/vCenter.

You are confident working with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS and have hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls and security appliances in hybrid environments.

Ideally, you also have a strong understanding of cyber security principles, identity management (SSO, MFA, RBAC), and service management practices (ITIL). Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, CCNA, VMware VCP-DCV, and Citrix CCA-V are highly desirable.

Please note that evidence of required certificates and qualifications must be provided to commence employment at GreenSquareAccord.
