Signum People Solutions is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own and evolve the Azure cloud environment, networking, and security posture. You will lead infrastructure projects and mentor the team, ensuring secure, compliant operations.

You’ll manage enterprise networking, firewall platforms, and identity controls while delivering modern workplace capabilities with Entra ID, Intune and M365 security. Hybrid working is available.

Are you an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer looking for a role that combines cloud architecture, enterprise networking, security and technical leadership?

We're partnering with a growing technology services organisation seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of its core Azure Cloud environment and related infrastructure estate. This is a highly visible position where you'll lead technical projects, act as the senior escalation point for complex issues and help shape the future direction of a modern, security-focused environment.

Working across Azure, networking, security, virtualisation and data centre operations, you'll play a key role in delivering resilient, scalable and secure services while supporting compliance and governance initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

As the senior technical authority within the infrastructure team, you will take ownership of a diverse technology estate, with a significant part of the role focusing on designing, maintaining and enhancing Microsoft Azure environments, leading infrastructure projects, and ensuring systems remain secure, scalable and aligned with security best practice.

You will be responsible for managing enterprise networking, firewall platforms, identity and access controls, endpoint management, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft 365 security. Working closely with the wider IT team, you will act as the key driver responsible for leading and delivering Microsoft Entra ID and Intune initiatives that strengthen the organisation's security posture and modern workplace capabilities.

You will take ownership of identity and endpoint management projects, implementing solutions such as Conditional Access, Multi-Factor Authentication, Privileged Identity Management and role-based access controls within Microsoft Entra ID. Alongside this, you will design and deploy Intune policies covering device compliance, security baselines, application deployment and endpoint configuration, ensuring a secure and consistent user experience.

Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will drive the adoption of modern management practices, improve endpoint security, enhance identity protection capabilities and support the ongoing evolution of a zero-trust security framework. In addition, you will play an important role in supporting ISO 27001 compliance, contributing to audits, producing technical documentation and helping shape the organisation's technology roadmap through technical leadership and mentoring.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in hearing from candidates with proven experience in a senior infrastructure, cloud or network engineering role, ideally within a Managed Services, IT Services or technology-driven environment.

In summary, the Senior Infrastructure Engineer will have experience across several of the following areas:

• Microsoft Azure architecture, administration and security
• Microsoft Entra ID, identity governance and access management
• Microsoft Intune and endpoint management platforms
• Enterprise networking, WAN, VPN and routing technologies
• Firewall administration, particularly Sophos and/or Barracuda
• Vulnerability management and security remediation
• Microsoft 365 administration and email security
• Secure Web Gateway technologies
• VMware vSphere and virtualisation platforms
• Infrastructure monitoring and alerting tools
• ISO 27001 environments and audit support
• Technical documentation, project delivery and stakeholder engagement
• Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305 or AZ-500 would be highly preffered
