We are seeking a talented and highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer with experience in Infrastructure Monitoring, Application Monitoring, Data Analytics Platforms, and Data Pipelines to join our community of tech experts.

Required Skills and Experience

• Extensive experience in designing and delivering infrastructure services within a hybrid server environment, including Microsoft Windows, various Unix/Linux distributions, and containerized platforms.
• Proven ability to provide technical support and guidance on non-functional requirements for architectural and development projects.
• Experience mentoring team members.
• Proficiency in scripting across multiple languages to deploy, improve, or troubleshoot operating systems and applications.
• Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent experience.

Your Role

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer in the DWP Enterprise Tooling Team, you will ensure the reliability and efficiency of IT services supporting DWP’s systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering: Managing all engineering aspects within your product set.
2. Design & Deployment: Creating and deploying robust IT solutions.
3. Subject Matter Expertise: Ensuring optimal operation of the tooling portfolio.
4. ITIL Standards: Managing incidents, problems, and change processes.
5. Support: Handling live service issues and mentoring junior staff.
6. Collaboration: Working with internal and external partners, stakeholders, and customers.

The tooling includes products like BMC Helix, Flexera, Nlyte, Splunk, Dynatrace, and Cribl. Training will be provided for these tools, but strong foundational knowledge of IT infrastructure is essential.

Location & Benefits

Location options include Blackpool, Manchester, or Newcastle, with a hybrid working model combining remote and face-to-face work.

Salary up to £68,517, with a civil service pension contributing 28.97%, holidays starting at 26 days rising to 31, plus up to 3 flexi-days per month, and public holidays.
