Job summary

GLA is seeking a Principal Delivery Officer within the Mayor's Infrastructure Coordination Service to lead the technical side of the SuDS and infrastructure delivery programme in London. You will oversee the SSM framework, coordinate multiple workstreams, and convene buyers and suppliers to deliver market rounds and practical delivery improvements across the city.

The role requires strong technical acumen, strategic thinking, and excellent stakeholder engagement with local authorities, utilities

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Environmental studies or Civil Engineering
• Strong leadership and programme-management experience
• Proven ability to engage with external partners and regulators
• Experience delivering complex infrastructure projects in a political environment

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical workstreams for the SSM programme and manage multiple interdependent workstreams (SuDS design, market design, trading platform, data, monitoring & evaluation)
• Provide strategic direction across technical workstreams and manage risks to delivery within budget
• Engage with buyers (local flood authorities, Boroughs, TfL) and suppliers (utilities, contractors) to shape market designs and guidance
• Produce reports, case studies and best-practice guidance to influence infrastructure delivery
• Represent the GLA in meetings and events, communicating risks, issues and opportunities to senior management
