Job summary

AJ Bell is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer to support the CISO and reduce information security risk across Technology Services. You will design, build and improve security controls, platforms and infrastructure to protect AJ Bell and customers, ensuring they are secure, scalable, automated, and effective.

You will lead the adoption of new security technologies, oversee patch management, and coordinate with Infrastructure teams to embed security from design through delivery.

Qualifications

• Significant IT security experience across large organisations.
• Experience implementing enterprise security platforms.
• Familiar with ISO27001, NIST or similar frameworks.
• CISSP (achieved or in progress) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, delivery and improvement of enterprise security solutions across endpoints, cloud, network, DevOps and monitoring.
• Design and implement secure infrastructure controls for scalability and resilience.
• Evaluate and implement new security tools, driving automation and integration.
• Lead adoption of new security technologies and ensure sustainable operation.
• Oversee patch management across systems and hardware to reduce risk.
• Support server hardening and secure configuration with Infra and Service Delivery teams.
• Provide security oversight across projects from design to delivery.
• Assist audits, regulatory reviews and due diligence with robust evidence and controls.
• Act as technical link between CISO function and Infrastructure teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of cybersecurity risk management maturity.
