IT Resourcing Professional and Third Level Lecturer

Market leading Telecommunications organisation requires an experienced Senior Project Manager to join them on a contract basis.

The IT Project Manager will be responsible for managing a set of supplier, stakeholder, and customer relationships while assisting with the implementation of a new billing solution project that will involve data migration and some UAT management.

This role is offered on a Hybrid basis, with onsite attendance 2 days per week in Galway City. With a supportive working environment and generous daily rates, this role is a great opportunity for Project Managers who wish to expand their experience with government or semi-sector clients.

Responsibilities of the role

1. Working collaboratively, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, at all levels within the organisation, to define and achieve mutual understanding of the project scope.
2. Work with the team to identify and schedule all the work required to fulfill the scope, building a detailed project plan to track progress.
3. Plan the project(s) in sufficient detail to ensure integration of all activities, identification of cross-portfolio dependencies, and understanding of critical paths and key milestones.
4. Ensure compliance with Quality Policy including review periods and quality gates.
5. Ensure non-people resources are identified so that the project budget will be accurate and remain affordable.
6. Ensure there is a robust process in place for risk and issue management, instigating mitigation actions and identifying contingency plans to keep the project on track.
7. Using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques, establish and manage an effective project reporting structure to measure and track project performance.
8. Leading our procurement schedule, making sure the right suppliers are engaged for each project.
9. Third level degree, or postgraduate qualification in a Technology, Finance, or Business Management related discipline.
10. Project Management Certification – Prince 2, PMP.
11. Five years’ experience as an intermediate level IT project manager in roles involving diverse stakeholders. This should include experience working with formal methodologies (PRINCE2, ITIL, or equivalent) and current best practices for IT project delivery.
12. Experience of successfully implementing two (2) IT projects in large, complex enterprise-level organizations within budget and timelines.
13. Strong knowledge of networking technologies/products (particularly Cisco), Microsoft Azure/Office 365, and a good general understanding of Enterprise IT Architecture.
14. Experience leading collaboration across organizational boundaries with diverse internal groups to deliver IT change.
