Placements24 is assisting a leading cybersecurity consultancy in hiring a Senior Information Security Consultant. The role is based in Randburg, Gauteng, with a hybrid working model combining on-site client engagements and remote work flexibility.

You will conduct comprehensive security assessments, including vulnerability testing and architecture reviews, and develop strategic security recommendations tailored to client needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of information security experience, with client-facing advisory work.
• Expertise across network, application, cloud security, incident response, and risk management.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls and POPIA.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and strategic thinking.
• Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with security assessment tools and methodologies.
• Ability to manage complex projects in a hybrid, on-site/remote setup.
• CISSP/CISM/CRISC/CEH or similar certifications preferred.
• Proven ability to work independently and in client-focused teams.

About the Role

Our client, a leading cybersecurity consultancy firm, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Information Security Consultant to join their dynamic team. This role, based in Randburg, Gauteng , will involve a hybrid working model, requiring you to engage with clients on-site while also benefiting from remote work flexibility. You will be responsible for providing expert advice, conducting security assessments, and developing strategic security solutions for a diverse client base across various industries. The ideal candidate possesses deep technical knowledge, strong analytical skills, and excellent client-facing abilities. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive security assessments, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security architecture reviews.
• Develop and deliver strategic security recommendations and solutions tailored to client needs.
• Advise clients on best practices for information security governance, risk management, and compliance.
• Assist clients in developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and controls.
• Lead security awareness training and workshops for client personnel.
• Manage client relationships and project engagements, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
• Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, and apply this knowledge to client engagements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop new service offerings and methodologies.
• Document security findings, recommendations, and implementation plans clearly and concisely.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to the overall growth of the consulting practice.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in information security, with a significant portion in consulting or a client-facing advisory role.
• Proven expertise in multiple security domains, such as network security, application security, cloud security, incident response, and risk management.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls) and regulatory requirements (e.g., POPIA).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients at all levels.
• Experience with security assessment tools and methodologies.
• Ability to manage complex projects and work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing client-site visits with remote work.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or CEH are highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a client-focused team.
