Job summary

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Deputy Head of Information Governance to lead the IG team and oversee operational management of Data Protection, FOI, Security Toolkit, and Information Risk across GP practices and primary care networks.

You will work with senior leaders, clinicians, and external partners to drive compliant, secure information sharing and data handling, contributing to digital transformation and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior IG/Information Governance role.
• Ability to write reports on complex IG issues and engage with ICO.
• Strong leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational IG activities to support clinical/business objectives.
• Develop and manage DPOaaS offering for GP practices and PCNs.
• Ensure compliance with UK GDPR and NHS IG requirements.
• Deliver training and develop improvement plans across IG functions.
