Job summary

Safran is recruiting a Senior Industrialisation Engineer in Buckinghamshire. You will deliver industrialisation for new/modified products and processes, ensuring readiness, validation, and cost targets while steering a small team.

You will champion DFM, lead process improvements, and coordinate with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, HSE, and Ops to meet standards and schedules.

Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing/industrialisation with a focus on DFM.
  • Strong APQP/PPAP/SPC knowledge.
  • HNC / HND in mechanical, electronics, or production engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Design processes with PFMEA/Control Plans and associated docs (work instructions, routings, tooling specs, line balancing, trials).
  • Qualify new tools, machines and working practices.
  • Lead technical issues on the Production Line and mentor teammates.

Your Role

As Senior Industrialisation Engineer, you'll deliver industrialisation for new/modified products and manufacturing processes, ensuring production readiness, process validation, quality, rate, and cost requirements are met, whilst acting as a project technical owner for defined work packages. You will champion effective process development, DFM capability and efficiency throughout the entire product and process development lifecycle.

The Senior Industrialisation Engineer will lead/supervise a small team to execute industrialisation plans, balancing workload, coaching team members, and ensuring adherence to standards and schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process design, PFMEA/Control Plans, work instructions, routings, tooling spec, line balancing, trials (PPAP/FAI), capability studies (Cp/Cpk), issue resolution/problem solving (8D), DfM/DfA/DTC.
  • Qualification of new tools, machines and working practices
  • Responsible for process performance and is a first point of contact to resolve technical issues on the Production Line. May be required to approve the work of others.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Industrial WP Planning (incl. NRC's), Leads technical activities; mentors juniors informally; collaborates proactively with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, HSE, and Ops.
  • Governance & Standards: Applies company standards (OneSafran, APQP/PPAP, MSA, SPC, ERP/MES, HSE, regulatory).
  • Innovation & CI: Identifies and implements CI using LEAN toolsets (SMED, 5S, Poka-Yoke, waste reduction); pilots digital tool
  • Risk & Readiness: Owns PFMEA actions; run-at-rate, pre-production builds, capacity verification; leads RCCA for launch issues
What You'll Bring
  • Proven experience in manufacturing/industrialisation; strong APQP/PPAP/SPC; hands-on with tooling/fixtures and validation
  • HNC / HND in mechanical, electronics or Production Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience of acting as a focal point for technologies and processes
  • Demonstrates a broad production engineering experience including cost down, design for manufacture / assembly / test techniques.
  • Ability to challenge design and manufacturing techniques to ensure DFM and DTC requirements are met
  • Solid communicator and able to influence effectively at all levels through mediums including written reports and delivery of presentations to ensure delivery of results.
  • Must be able to lead and work effectively as part of a multi-disciplined team and deliver to tight deadlines
