Job summary

A&O Shearman in Belfast seeks a Senior In-House Lawyer with a focus on AI and data privacy to join the Data Privacy Risk team. The role reports to senior privacy leaders and requires a track record in risk management or in-house legal teams with at least 5 years PQE.

You will help develop and maintain the firm's global AI governance framework, advise on AI strategy and internal deployment, and lead privacy initiatives across IT and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with 5+ years PQE in AI, privacy, information security and data handling issues.
• Experience advising stakeholders in a commercial context.
• Experience in an international corporate or professional services environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Chief Privacy Officer and Deputy Chief Privacy Officer in a dynamic role.
• Develop and maintain the firm's AI governance and risk management programme.
• Provide risk management advice on AI strategy and internal deployment.
• Maintain the firm's global privacy framework and data handling practices.
• Respond to individual rights requests and data incident response.
• Deliver privacy training and guidance across the firm.
