Job summary

Ofgem is recruiting a Principal IDAM Engineer to lead enterprise identity and access management strategies across government-grade systems. You will shape identity governance, RBAC/ABAC models and lifecycle workflows while mentoring teams and aligning with regulatory requirements.

The role is senior and technically focused, requiring collaboration with architecture, security and delivery teams. Hybrid working is offered with one in-office day per week in the UK.

Qualifications

• Strong experience delivering enterprise-scale IDAM solutions and identity governance frameworks.
• Experience implementing user lifecycle management, provisioning and access recertification processes.
• Deep understanding of access control models, identity standards and security frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of Ofgem's IDAM strategy and governance frameworks.
• Design and integrate IDAM solutions across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Oversee provisioning, deprovisioning and automated access workflows.
• Mentor engineers and promote secure identity practices across the organisation.
• Engage senior stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
