Job summary

WSP is seeking Senior ICA Engineers to shape and deliver control solutions for water and wastewater assets across the UK. You will author URS documents, develop control philosophies, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to define how a site should run and be commissioned.

You will lead ICA deliverables, coordinate with process and electrical engineers, and ensure compliance with UK standards for automation, telemetry, and SCADA.

Qualifications

• Proven experience writing User Requirement Specifications for the water or wastewater sector.
• Proven experience writing control philosophies for process plants such as treatment works or pumping stations.
• Strong ICA design background within the UK water industry.
• A good understanding of PLC, SCADA, telemetry and instrumentation systems.
• Experience reviewing integrator documents and witnessing FAT/SAT.
• Knowledge of DSEAR and CDM regulations.
• Confidence working with clients, operations teams and multidisciplinary colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Own the control and automation requirements on water and wastewater schemes from feasibility to handover.
• Write and review URS and control philosophies that guide system integrators and contractors.
• Collaborate with process, mechanical and electrical engineers and client operations teams to capture requirements.
• Ensure designs follow client automation, telemetry and SCADA standards.
• Prepare ICA deliverables including instrument schedules, I/O lists, datasheets and architecture drawings.
• Review FDS against URS and control philosophy.
• Attend FAT/SAT at factory sites and on-site commissioning support.
