Job summary

Join AECOM’s Water team as an Associate Hydrologist based in the UK or Ireland with a flexible hybrid working model. You will lead hydrological assessments for flood risk, reservoir engineering and water resources strategy, delivering impactful projects with senior responsibility and team leadership.

You will mentor colleagues, review reports, drive business development, and maintain strong client relationships while staying updated on evolving legislation and guidelines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography or related discipline.
• 15+ years in leading flood hydrological estimations (FEH/REFH2).
• Experience with hydraulic modellers and calibration of models.
• Strong leadership and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Technically lead or verify flood hydrological assessments for flood risk and reservoir projects.
• Review or verify hydrological reports and data.
• Support business development for UK and international projects.
• Mentor staff in hydrological estimation and professional development.
• Build client relationships and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Stay updated on legislation and guidelines affecting services.
• Represent AECOM at conferences and drive team innovation, including AI solutions.
