AECOM invites you to join our Water team as an Associate Hydrologist, based in the UK with flexible hybrid working. You will lead hydrological assessments for flood risk management, infrastructure planning, and environmental permitting, while mentoring colleagues and engaging with clients across national and international projects.
This senior role blends technical leadership, project oversight, and collaboration across disciplines.
Qualifications
- Degree in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, or related discipline.
- 15+ years' experience leading flood flow estimation using FEH and REFH2.
- Chartered with ICE or CIWEM; strong GIS skills (QGIS/ArcGIS/MapInfo).
Responsibilities
- Lead or verify flood hydrological assessments for flood alleviation schemes.
- Review reports documenting hydrological assessments.
- Support business development for national and international projects.
- Mentor staff in hydrological estimation for professional development.
- Build relationships with clients and other technical disciplines.
- Deliver thought leadership and represent AECOM at conferences.
