Job summary

CleanTech Talent is recruiting a Senior/Principal Hydrologist to lead and develop water and drainage services. You will own technical delivery across drainage design, SuDS, and pollution control while collaborating with ecology and environmental teams on nationwide projects.

The role offers high autonomy, with responsibilities spanning feasibility to detailed design, budget and programme management, and engagement with statutory consultees.

Qualifications

• Senior/Principal drainage or hydrology experience, ideally in consultancy.
• Track record designing SuDS or water treatment/pollution control solutions.
• Strong project management across concurrent commissions.
• Experience engaging with statutory consultees and managing stakeholders.
• Business development experience (client relationships, bid/fee proposals).

Responsibilities

• Own technical delivery across drainage design, SuDS, construction-phase pollution control, and sustainable water management.
• Lead commissions from feasibility through detailed design and manage budgets and programmes.
• Engage with Environment Agency and statutory bodies on projects.
• Drive business development - proposals, tenders, and client relationships.
