Job summary

Progressive Recruitment is seeking a Senior Hydraulics Engineer for a 4.5-month contract in Manchester with hybrid working. The role focuses on hydraulic modelling, surge analysis, and optimisation across water and wastewater projects, from concept to delivery.

You will engage with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust engineering solutions. Applicants should have strong UK water sector experience, proficiency in HADES, and the ability to produce calculations and reports for

Qualifications

  • Strong background in the UK water and wastewater sector.
  • Proven experience in hydraulic modelling and network flow analysis.
  • Experience with surge analysis / water hammer studies.
  • Knowledge of thermofluids and UK standards/regulations.
  • Ability to produce technical calculations, reports and engineering deliverables.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Previous consultancy experience is desirable.

Senior Hydraulics Engineer - Contract Opportunity (Manchester Hybrid)

We are supporting a leading engineering consultancy in the water sector who are looking to engage an experienced Senior Hydraulics Engineer on an initial 4.5-month contract.

Working within a specialist water team, you will provide technical expertise across water and wastewater infrastructure projects, supporting hydraulic design, modelling, analysis and optimisation activities from concept through to delivery.

Key Experience Required
  • Strong background within the UK water and wastewater sector
  • Hydraulic modelling and network flow analysis experience
  • Surge analysis / water hammer studies
  • HADES experience
  • Thermofluids knowledge
  • Understanding of UK water industry standards and regulations
  • Ability to produce technical calculations, reports and engineering deliverables
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Previous consultancy experience desirable
