The role focuses primarily on hydraulic modelling of treatment facilities, with opportunities to work on a wider range of civil, environmental and design projects.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and calibrate HADES models for treatment plant infrastructure.
  • Explore hydraulic modelling scenarios and develop solutions for scales ranging from pilot to full‑size plants.
  • Prepare high‑quality technical reports that clearly document model assumptions, building processes, results, and uncertainties.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients and internal multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support project delivery tasks, including preparation of hydraulic profiles and coordination with other disciplines to develop detailed design drawings.
  • Engage with clients and use AECOM project‑management systems to deliver work on time and within budget.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in open‑channel hydraulic design, including sub‑critical and super‑critical flow and hydraulic jumps.
  • Experience designing hydraulic structures such as weirs and flumes.
  • Experience with gravity pipe and pressure pipe design.
  • Ability to develop hydraulic models and/or produce calculations for a range of treatment plant sizes independently.
  • Understanding of hydraulic modelling scenarios and interpretation of results.
  • Chartered status or progressing towards chartership with CIWEM or ICE.
Desirable but not essential
  • Experience with HADES modelling.
Location

Based in England and Wales, with offices in Basingstoke, Belfast, Bristol, Chesterfield, Croydon, Edinburgh, Leeds and Manchester. Flexible working arrangements are available.
