Job summary

Maritime Developments Limited is seeking a Hydraulic Project / Design Engineer to lead the hydraulic scope of assigned projects from initial specification through to delivery. You will work within MDL’s Shared Services Engineering Team, supporting asset maintenance, new builds and rental activities.

You will apply expertise in hydraulic and electro-hydraulic systems, CAD, and vendor products, ensuring technical integrity and adherence to MDL procedures and project schedules.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant subject preferred, but HNC/HND or industry experience considered.
• Cetop, NFPA or BFPA hydraulic training would be advantageous.
• Experience generating/reading hydraulic schematics and CAD drawings.
• Knowledge of hydraulic components and sizing for winches, cranes and power units.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver hydraulic project workscopes from initiation to delivery.
• Manage hydraulic budgets and project documentation per MDL procedures.
• Design and upgrade hydraulic systems for rental equipment or client projects.
• Collaborate with multidiscipline engineering teams and offshore personnel.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure design integrity.
• Adhere to HSEQ standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead by example and support MDL’s OneTeam culture.
• Attend project Kick-Off and client meetings as required.
