Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Hydraulic Design Engineer in Aberdeen to lead hydraulic system design for rental equipment and client projects. You will drive specification, design, manufacture, assembly and testing phases, ensuring technical integrity and best practice across hydraulic activities.

You will work closely with the design team, workshop personnel and offshore teams to deliver on-time, high-quality hydraulic solutions in a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Experience generating, reading and interpreting hydraulic schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic and electro-hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage hydraulic budgets within project scope.
• Design new hydraulic systems and electro-hydraulic equipment for rental equipment and clients.
• Collaborate with Engineering Team, Hydraulic Workshop and offshore teams.
• Ensure project documentation and work instructions are developed and followed.

Are you a Hydraulic Design Engineer with a background in the oil and gas industry, industrial lifting equipment or deck machinery, looking for a varied and hands-on role within an Engineering Consultancy that supplies tailored solutions, equipment and personnel packages for the global energy sectors?

Are you looking to become immersed as an integral part of the Design Team, where you will be responsible for the delivery of hydraulic projects from initial specification and kick-off through the engineering, manufacture, assembly and testing phases, through to final delivery or execution

On offer is the opportunity to work within a close-knit design team, where you will play a key role in ensuring the technical integrity of hydraulic projects, drawing on your technical experience to develop best practice and provide high levels of technical guidance across hydraulic engineering activities.

The Role:

• Ensure project documentation, procedures and associated work instructions are developed and defined
• Manage hydraulic budgets associated with the wider project work scope
• Design new hydraulic systems and electro-hydraulic equipment for rental equipment and external clients
• Work closely with the wider Engineering Team, Hydraulic Workshop personnel and offshore teams

The Person:

• Technically competent in generating, reading, interpreting and following hydraulic schematics and wiring diagrams
