Job summary

Linaker, a long-established mechanical engineering provider in the UK, is seeking an HVAC Engineer to join our national team, delivering planned and reactive maintenance across commercial and retail sites to keep systems safe, efficient and compliant.

You will perform fault finding on AHUs/FCUs/VRV/VRF and chillers, maintain documentation in CAFM, and participate in the on-call rota while upholding health and safety standards. This role offers growth in a supportive, client‑facing environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration / HVAC (or equivalent).
• F-Gas Category 1 qualification is required.
• Proven commercial HVAC maintenance experience across sites.
• Good electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence and strong Health & Safety understanding.
• Knowledge of F-Gas compliance and environmental regulations.
• Experience with large or complex sites (e.g., chillers, AHUs).
• ACRIB Gold Skills Card is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive and reactive maintenance on HVAC systems (AHUs, FCUs, VRV/VRF, splits, chillers).
• Fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical and electrical components.
• Ensure work complies with statutory, SFG20, and company procedures.
• Record job details accurately in the CAFM system.
• Identify remedial works with clear technical detail.
• Maintain van stock, tools, and plant; participate in call-outs.
• Be part of the on-call rota where applicable.
