Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Manchester to own the delivery of complex High Voltage Transmission Equipment projects across the UK and internationally. You will oversee the full lifecycle, ensuring safe, on-time, and on-budget execution of primary and secondary substation packages, including GIS/HIS switchgear, transformers, shunt reactors, STATCOM/SVC systems, and related equipment.

The role requires a degree-qualified electrical engineer with ~5 years of HV transmission

Qualifications

• University degree in electrical/electrical power engineering (>3 years).
• 5 years proven track record in HV transmission equipment.
• Experience in project management and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
• Fluent English; German optional.
• Willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of HV transmission equipment packages to budget, safety, and schedule.
• Coordinate design, testing, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
• Prepare offers and manage project delivery of electrical systems.
• Subcontracting management and risk tracking.
• Office-based in design, travel to supplier/customer sites during procurement/install.
