Job summary

Laing O\'Rourke is seeking an experienced Utilities Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of National Grid utility infrastructure works on the Letchmore Heath 400kV Substation project in Watford.

You will manage utility diversions, protection measures, new connections and associated works, coordinating with National Grid, engineers, subcontractors and local authorities to ensure safe, on‑time and on‑budget delivery from planning through handover.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Significant experience delivering National Grid, transmission, distribution or major utilities infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing substation or high-voltage infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability delivering complex construction programmes as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager.
• Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial project delivery.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
• Excellent health, safety, environmental and quality management knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of National Grid utility infrastructure works from planning through commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate interfaces with National Grid, clients, designers, subcontractors and authorities.
• Manage programme, commercial controls, stakeholder engagement and risk across the project lifecycle.
