Job summary

Hunter Philips Executive Search is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead HV substation asset replacement programmes in the Yorkshire region. You will oversee projects from design and procurement through construction, testing and commissioning, interfacing with clients, contractors, engineering teams and senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Project Management.
• Demonstrable experience delivering high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of HV networks and substation equipment.
• Experience managing complex projects through full delivery lifecycle.
• Knowledge of UK electricity utility and transmission standards.
• Experience working with a DNO is advantageous.
• Solid leadership and stakeholder-management capabilities.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, programmes and cost reports.
• Strong commercial awareness, problem-solving and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and delivery of HV substation asset replacement projects.
• Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, resources and risk registers.
• Oversee delivery from design and procurement through construction, testing and commissioning.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors and project stakeholders.
• Monitor project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control and reporting.
• Identify project risks and implement appropriate mitigation and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, technical standards, safety requirements and client specifications.
• Review project performance and provide clear progress reports to clients and senior management.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining safety, quality, programme and commercial performance.
