Job summary

SSEN Transmission is hiring a Site Construction Manager to lead the construction and commissioning of the Carnaig 400KV Substation project. You will supervise earthworks, civils, buildings, earthing, switchgear installation, transformer installation and electrical commissioning on a site-based role.

You will act as SSEN Transmission's primary site representative, coordinating contractors and the project team, ensuring safety, quality and alignment with the programme.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction or commissioning of high voltage substations or major infra projects.
• Strong health and safety knowledge with CDM regulations.
• Experience with NEC contracts and contractor performance management.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe delivery of construction and commissioning activities for the Carnaig 400KV Substation project.
• Act as main site representative coordinating contractors, suppliers and project teams.
• Monitor progress, resources and KPIs; support NEC contract administration and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, planning consents and SSEN procedures.
• Maintain quality and provide accurate site records and reporting.
