Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an HV Engineer to work on major high-voltage infrastructure projects across water and energy sectors in the UK. The role covers substations upgrades and modifications up to 400kV with UK-wide travel and a salary around £70,000+ depending on experience.

You will contribute from planning through to implementation, coordinating with site teams and ensuring compliance with safety rules and procedures. The position offers long-term opportunities within the UK utility sector.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-voltage electrical environments.
• HV substations upgrades or modifications experience; NGED Competent Person authorisation minimum.
• Willingness to travel UK-wide; AMP8 North West focus.

Responsibilities

• Support the safe delivery of HV projects from planning and preparation through to implementation and completion.
• Work on HV substation upgrades and modifications.
• Support switching and isolation activities and coordinate with project/site teams.
• Ensure works are completed in accordance with electrical safety rules and procedures.
• Provide technical input throughout project delivery.
